How to make it

  • Preheat your oven to 350
  • Break and separate your eggs
  • Take the egg yolks and beat them on low for a minute
  • After, add in the sweetened condensed milk and lemon juice, then beat until mixed
  • Pour this into the pie shell and set aside
  • Next take the egg whites and put them in a cold metal bowl (this with help the air get into the egg), add the cream of tartar and whip until firm peaks form
  • Slowly add sugar in to the egg white mixture while continuing to whip them
  • When the sugar is mixed in and the meringue is firm put on top of the filling, making sure to get all the way to the edge
  • put in the oven and bake for 13-16 minutes
  • When done take out and cool it and then put it in the refigerator for 4 or more hours
