From mattie279 15 years agoIngredients
- 6 jalapenos shopping list
- 4 habaneros shopping list
- 1 poblano pepper shopping list
- 1 onion shopping list
- 1 Tbls garlic paste or 5 cloves of Garlic shopping list
- 4 cans diced tomatoes with green chili's shopping list
- 1 lime shopping list
- 1Tbls extra virgin olive oil shopping list
- salt and fresh cracked pepper to taste shopping list
- 1 set of latex or similar style gloves shopping list
- 2 cups cilantro shopping list
How to make it
- Whenever you are dealing with habaneros please use gloves.
- Heat up your grill on low
- Place your whole jalapenos, habaneros and poblano on the grill
- Turn every few minutes and grill until done, about 20 min.
- Cut off tops with stems and place in a food processor with the Olive Oil and some of the juice from your diced tomatoes
- Blend until a puree
- I really recommend a food processor instead of dicing. This is your heat and you can add as much or as little as you like. Having a puree really helps with blending the heat throughout the rest of the salsa.
- Dice your onion
- Cut lime in half
- Add onion, garlic paste, cilantro and squeeze your lime into your diced tomatoes and green chilis
- Mix well
- Add pepper puree
- I recommend adding the puree in stages until you reach the level of heat you like in your food.
- Salt and Pepper to taste.
- If you want to make this recipe really unique try smoking the Peppers with different woods. I really like applewood, pear wood and mesquite.
