How to make it

  • Whenever you are dealing with habaneros please use gloves.
  • Heat up your grill on low
  • Place your whole jalapenos, habaneros and poblano on the grill
  • Turn every few minutes and grill until done, about 20 min.
  • Cut off tops with stems and place in a food processor with the Olive Oil and some of the juice from your diced tomatoes
  • Blend until a puree
  • I really recommend a food processor instead of dicing. This is your heat and you can add as much or as little as you like. Having a puree really helps with blending the heat throughout the rest of the salsa.
  • Dice your onion
  • Cut lime in half
  • Add onion, garlic paste, cilantro and squeeze your lime into your diced tomatoes and green chilis
  • Mix well
  • Add pepper puree
  • I recommend adding the puree in stages until you reach the level of heat you like in your food.
  • Salt and Pepper to taste.
  • If you want to make this recipe really unique try smoking the Peppers with different woods. I really like applewood, pear wood and mesquite.

Mattie~i make salsa all the time. I like this recipe the best because you roasted the peppers. I just bought a case of Habanero and put them through the food processor seeds and all. HOT!! But really good. I am trying this tonight with my peppers and your recipe. Thanks Mattie. Sas
