How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 400.
  • In the bowl of a stand mixer combine the brown sugar, butter and egg until fluffy. Stir in the buttermilk, root beer extract, flour, baking soda and salt and mix until smooth.
  • Drop by rounded teaspoonful, 2"" apart onto greased cookie sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes. Immediately cool on rack.
  • To prepare the glaze, combine the powdered sugar, butter, root beer extract and the water. Frost the cookies with the root beer glaze.
