How to make it

  • Place ground beef in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain, and crumble.
  • In crock pot set on high, combine the cooked ground beef, tomato sauce (depending on how thick you like it, add more or less), kidney beans, pinto beans, onions, bell pepper, cayenne pepper, oregano, ground black pepper, salt, cumin and chili powder.
  • Cook for 3 ½ to 4 hours.

Okay, I'll admit to it. I'm a chili powder wuss. i like the flavor, but not too much of it. If I cut the amount of chili powder in half, will that give me a little heat without growing hair on my feminine chest? or should i cut it to 1.8 of a cup?

    Thanks for posting!

I made this chili on a cold and snowy day. So easy and so good! This will become a winter time staple for me.

I made it!! Darned good chili by George!! :o) I put it in my crockpot to cook and I'd hate to have had to add anything more, because I doubt it could have held one more thing. Great chili. Loved it and am going to make it for Super Bowl Sunday...also good over hot dogs, with cheese!
