How to make it

  • Bottom layer:
  • Mix both packages cherry Jello and boiling water together until dissolved. Whisk in cranberry sauce and pineapple; stir in celery, apple, and walnuts. Pour into a 13 x 9 glass dish. Chill until set.
  • Top layer:
  • Dissolve lemon Jello in hot water (or juice, if using); whisk in sugar, and stir until dissolved. Stir in cream cheese and sour cream; whisk until smooth. Pour over chilled cranberry layer and chill until set.

    I found this recipe a few years ago ( 5 yrs.now?) and have been making it ever since. I make it in honor of my Aunt Loretta who would bring this jello-salad (and others) to family gatherings and dinners throughout my childhood. Love this one!
    Thank you Fizzie3nat for sharing and posting this recipe. There are similar versions of this out there but this one is the best!

    This sounds just what I was looking for but do you use the small or large pkgs. of cream cheese? Salad and dessert in one dish-yum!
