How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350
  • whisk together cake mix, butter, and 1 egg
  • press into greased 9x13 pan
  • mix cream cheese, 2 eggs, and powered sugar
  • pout into pan
  • bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until golden brown
  • **next numbers are variations**
  • add a cup of chocolate chips or peanut butter chips to cream cheese mixture and bake as directed
  • add 1 drained can of crushed pineapple to cream cheese mixture and bake as directed
  • substitute yellow cake mix for chocolate, add 1 cup of creamy peanut butter to the cream cheese mixture and bake as directed
  • add 1 (15oz) can of pumpkin, 1 more egg, spash of vanilla, 1 stick of butter (melted), and a dash of cinnamon to the cream cheese mixture and bake 40-50 minutes

    Yes, this is a classic - and the first recipe we ever had for it was called Chess Cake- don't see that much anymore! Thanks for posting!
