Worlds Best Cornbread Stuffing Recipe
WORLD’S BEST CORNBREAD STUFFING This is a recipe I obtained from an Estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Tinsley Estate in Venus, Texas in 1987.

Ingredients
  • 1 package herb stuffing mix
  • 1 package cornbread stuffing mix
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter
  • 1-1/2 cups celery finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup onion finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon sage
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 2 cups boiling water

Directions
  1. Melt 1/4 cup margarine in skillet.
  2. Sauté chopped celery and onion over medium heat until tender (clear, but not brown).
  3. Add 1/4 cup boiling water to help it cook without browning.
  4. Combine stuffing mixes in large mixing bowl.
  5. Add remaining 1/4 cup melted butter or margarine, beaten egg, cooked celery and onion, parsley and sage.
  6. Mix lightly and well, adding 1 1/2 cups boiling water a little at a time until moist.
