How to make it

  • Mix eggs,oil,water,and salt.
  • Mix in the flour lightly.
  • Do not work the mixture too much.
  • Just enough ti give it an even texture,about 5 minutes.
  • Let it rest 15-20 minutes.
  • Bring 4quarts of water to a boil with 1-1/2 tbs salt.
  • Dip a tbs into the boiling water(so the dough does not stick to spoon)
  • With the spoon tear small pieces out of dumplings mixture.
  • Dropping the pieces into the boiling water.
  • When the dumplings have all surfaced to the top of the water.
  • Turn off heat and remove them with a slotted spoon..
  • Rinse them with could water and drain.
  • .

    My grandmother would make the dumplings similar to this recipe and put in a pan with a stick of melted butter and fry them until golden brown. Fry on lower heat, they get too hard if fried to high or too long. Very good
