Ingredients
  • 12 sweet potatoes
  • 1 pint heavy cream
  • 64 ounces can clams with juice
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 cups chopped onion
  • 2 cups chopped celary
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions
  1. Bake sweet potatoes, wrapped in foil, in a 375 degree oven for about 90 minutes or until potatoes are cooked through let cool put potatoes through a ricer, this will remove the stringy fibers in the potato, if you don't mind the stringy stuff then just mash the potatoes
  2. in a fry pan cook the onions,and celery in butter until soft, add garlic and cook just a little longer
  3. put potatoes, onion mixture,cream, and clams with juice into a soup pot
  4. add salt and pepper to your likeing heat soup and enjoy
