How to make it

  • Heat oven to 425.
  • Arrange celery, eggs and meat in ungreased square baking pan.
  • Melt butter over low heat then blend in flour, salt and pepper.
  • Cook over low heat stirring until mixture is smooth and bubbly.
  • Remove from heat and stir in milk then heat to boiling stirring constantly.
  • Boil and stir 1 minute then stir in onion and green pepper then pour over meat and place in oven.
  • Prepare crescents by measuring dry ingredients into a bowl.
  • Measure oil and milk then pour all at once into flour mixture.
  • Stir until mixture forms a ball then knead dough 10 times.
  • Roll into circle 1/2” thick between 2 sheets of waxed paper then cut into 12 wedges.
  • Roll up beginning at wide edges.
  • Arrange 6 crescents on hot mixture then bake casserole uncovered 30 minutes.
  • Remaining crescents can be baked on baking sheet 15 minutes.
