Dinner In A Dish With Cheese Crescents

- 1-1/2 cups cut up celery shopping list
- 4 hard cooked eggs halved shopping list
- 2 cups cut up cooked chicken shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter shopping list
- 1/4 cup flour shopping list
- 1-1/2 teaspoons salt shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper shopping list
- 2 cups milk shopping list
- 1 small onion thinly sliced shopping list
- 1/4 cup chopped green pepper shopping list
- cheese Crescents: shopping list
- 2 cups flour shopping list
- 3 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 cup shredded American cheese shopping list
- 1/3 cup salad oil shopping list
- 2/3 cup milk shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oven to 425.
- Arrange celery, eggs and meat in ungreased square baking pan.
- Melt butter over low heat then blend in flour, salt and pepper.
- Cook over low heat stirring until mixture is smooth and bubbly.
- Remove from heat and stir in milk then heat to boiling stirring constantly.
- Boil and stir 1 minute then stir in onion and green pepper then pour over meat and place in oven.
- Prepare crescents by measuring dry ingredients into a bowl.
- Measure oil and milk then pour all at once into flour mixture.
- Stir until mixture forms a ball then knead dough 10 times.
- Roll into circle 1/2” thick between 2 sheets of waxed paper then cut into 12 wedges.
- Roll up beginning at wide edges.
- Arrange 6 crescents on hot mixture then bake casserole uncovered 30 minutes.
- Remaining crescents can be baked on baking sheet 15 minutes.
