From a 1988 posting in the New Hampsire Telegraph food pages. I found cod to be the best as it is more sturdy. You can also add crab and shrimp.

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (16-ounce) can stewed tomatoes, cut up and not drained
  • 1/2 pound fish, such as sole, cod or haddock, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/2 pound cut partially steamed asparagus or not-steamed zucchini
  • 1 cup part skim ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup skim milk

Directions
  1. Melt margarine, and stir in flour.
  2. Add salt, tomatoes, fish and asparagus or diced zucchini; cover and simmer 8-10 minutes.
  3. Combine cheese and milk in blender.
  4. Add to fish; heat to serving. Do not boil.
