- 200g chopped dried dates shopping list
- 1 1/4 cups water shopping list
- 1 tsp bi-carb soda shopping list
- 60g butter, room temp. shopping list
- 1/3 cup caster sugar shopping list
- 2 eggggs shopping list
- 1 cup self-raising flour shopping list
- **** FOR THE SAUCE***** shopping list
- 1 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1 Cup cream shopping list
- 200g butter, cubed shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 180C and line a 20cm round cake tin.
- In a small saucepan, combine dates and water, bring to the boil. Remove heat and add bi-carb. Allow to cool.
- In a large bowl, use electric beaters to combine butter and sugar, then the eggs, one at a time.
- Fold in the self-raising flour, then the dates.
- Put batter in the cake tin and bake for 55 minutes.
- While the puddin's doing its thing, make the sauce; Just combine all the sauce ingridients in a medium saucepan till its all smooth and melted together.
- When the Pudding's 55 minutes is up, pour 1/4 cup of the sauce over the top and bake for another 5 minutes.
- Serve with icecream and more sauce.
