Ingredients
  • 4 pork chops
  • 1 tea seasoned salt
  • 1/4 tea pepper
  • 1 tea garlic powder
  • 1/2 tea onion powder
  • all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup bacon drippings
  • 1 lg onion sliced
  • 3 tbl all purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • wash chops and pat dry
  • mix seasons and rub the chops use 1/4 teas per chop save the rest forthe gravy

Directions
  1. lightly dust the chops with flour, heat drippings in a large heavy skillet. add chops and brown each side . approx 5 to 10 minutes
  2. remove chops to a warm paper toweled platter.
  3. remove all but 1/4 cup of the drippings from pan.
  4. add slices of onion and brown. add the flour the trick is to get the flour as brown as possible without burning it or the onion
  5. add water and stir
  6. return chops to pan- add sufficient water to cover.
  7. bring to a quick boil reduce to low
  8. cover and simmer about an hour or until pork is tender
  9. season to taste with additional seasonings
