How to make it

  • Cream shortening, and sugar and cream well.
  • Add salt and flavoring.
  • Mix thoroughly.
  • Sift flour then measure and add all at once to creamed mixture.
  • Add nuts, working with hands until dough sticks together.
  • Form 3 balls and color 1 green and 1 pink.
  • Chill dough.
  • Form into balls 1 inch in diameter.
  • Place about 2 inches apart on heavy, lightly greased baking sheet.
  • Bake in moderate oven 400 degrees about 14 to 17 minutes.
  • While cookies are still warm roll in powdered sugar.
  • Roll again after cookies are cold.
  • Store in container loosely covered.

    I have a recipe similar to this with the powered sugar. I'm sure yours are like mine, they just melt in your mouth.They are so good. I'm keeping this one too.
