  • 2 CUPS OF FLOUR
  • 1 TEASPOON OFBAKING PPOWDER
  • 3/4 TEASPOON OF GROUND GINGER
  • 1/2 TEAS[OON OF GROUND CINNAMON
  • 1/2 TEASPOON OFBAKING SODA
  • 1/2 TEASPOON OF SALT
  • 2/3 CUP OF MOLASSES
  • 1/2 CUP OF DARK CORN SYRUP
  • 1/2 CUP OFCORN OIL
  • 1 EGG LIGHTLY BEATEN
  • 1/2 CUP OF WARM WATER
  • MIX FIRST 6 INGREDIENTS
  • ADD CORN SYRUP, OIL ,MOLASSES AND EGG.BEAT UNTIL SMOOTH.
  • BEAT IN WATER.
  • POUR IN A GREASED 9-INCH SQUARE BAKING PAN AT 350 DEGREES FOR 35-40 MINUTES OR UNTIL TOOTHPICK COMES OUT CLEAN.
  • COOL.

Directions
  1. LEMON SAUCE
  2. 1/2 CUP OF SUGAR
  3. 2 TABLESPOONS OF CORN STARCH
  4. 2/3 CUP OF WATER
  5. 1 TABLESPOON OF LEMON PEEL
  6. 1/3 CUP OF LEMON JUICE
  7. 1 TABLESPOON OF BUTTER
  8. MIX CORN STARCH AND SUGAR IN SAUCEPAN.GRADUALLY STIR IN WATER.
  9. COOK OVER MEDIUM HEAT, STIRRING CONSTANTLY UNTIL BOILS. BOIL AND STIR FOR 1 MINUTE; REMOVE FROM HEAT. STIR IN LEMON,JUICE AND BUTTER
  10. SERVE SAUCE WARM OR COOL OVER GINGERCAKE.
  11. REFRIGERATE ANY LEFTOVER SAUCE.
