We also make this at Christmas.. this is my daughters recipe. She gets the oils at the Hobby places and at some drug stores.. It's a good old fashioned treat that you can make as strong as you like.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups sugar shopping list
- 1 cup water shopping list
- 1 1/2 cup white corn syrup shopping list
- 1 teaspoon of oil flavoring of your choice.. she adds extra shopping list
- 1 teaspoon food coloring. If you use paste, you can use less. shopping list
How to make it
- Combine the first 3 ingredents in a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil.
- Cook to 300 for hard crack stage.
- Remove from heat add flavor and color.
- Pour in a cookie sheet that has been dusted quite heavy with powdered sugar.
- After it is hard sprinkle more powdered sugar on again.
- Break into pieces and store in an air tight container.
- Enjoy and make memories
