Rock Candy Recipe

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups sugar

1 cup water

1 1/2 cup white corn syrup

1 teaspoon of OIL flavoring of your choice.. she adds extra

1 teaspoon food coloring. If you use paste, you can use less.

Directions

Combine the first 3 ingredents in a saucepan.

Bring to a boil.

Cook to 300 for hard crack stage.

Remove from heat add flavor and color.

Pour in a cookie sheet that has been dusted quite heavy with powdered sugar.

After it is hard sprinkle more powdered sugar on again.

Break into pieces and store in an air tight container.

Enjoy and make memories

I haven't had rock candy since I was a kid. My grandma would make us a hot toddy with rock candy in it when we got sick. I have told Gem about it before, maybe I can con her into making this and getting the hot toddy recipe from my grandma. LOL
