How to make it

  • Mix together 1st 6 ingredients; add to ground beef and mix well. Shape into balls.
  • Brown meatballs on all sides.
  • Remove meatballs from skillet and set aside.
  • Drain fat from pan.
  • SAUCE:
  • Combine brown sugar & cornstarch in skillet.
  • Stir in pineapple with juice; vinegar and soy sauce.
  • Bring to a boil stirring constantly.
  • Reduce heat. Cover and simmer for about 10 min. or until sauce thickens. Stir occasionally.
  • Add green pepper. Cover and simmer until tender. Aprrox. 5 min.
  • Return meatballs to skillet and heat through.
  • Serve over rice and garnish with sliced green onions, cut on an angle; if desired.

    These are so good! Very close to our family recipe.
    Every so often we had a pot luck Friday at work. I always brought Polynesian Meatballs in a crock pot. There never were any left to take home.
    Fantastic for a Super Bowl party!!
