How to make it

  • Grind the ingredients in the To Grind section to a fine paste with a little water.
  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and fry the onions till golden brown, and remove.
  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in the same pan, add the cardamom, cinnamon and cloves and stir for a minute. Add the ground paste to this and saute till oil starts separating. Add the chopped tomatoes and stir till the tomato pieces are cooked.
  • Add cut chicken pieces along with the salt to the pan, mix well, so that the pieces are coated with the masala. Fry well till the chicken pieces starts to brown.
  • Add the fried onions and curry leaves to the pan and stir for another minute.
  • Add 2 cups of hot water to the pan, mix well and cook covered on medium heat till the chicken pieces are cooked through.
  • Garnish with freshly chopped corriander leaves
