Cheesy Scalloped Carrots

- 12 medium carrots sliced shopping list
- 1 small onion diced shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter shopping list
- 1/4 cup flour shopping list
- 1 t salt shopping list
- 1/4 t dry mustard shopping list
- 2 cups milk shopping list
- 1/8 t pepper shopping list
- 1/4 t celery salt shopping list
- 1/2 lb. chedder cheese shredded shopping list
- 3 cups buttered fresh bread crumbs shopping list
How to make it
- early in the day cook carrots in boiling salted water, covered until barely tender. drain
- Meanwhile in saucepan gently cook onion in butter for 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in flour, salt, mustard, and milk.
- Cook, stirring until smooth.
- Add pepper and celery salt.
- In 2 Qt. casserole, arrange 1/3 of the carrots, 1/2 of the cheese and repeat with a second layer of carrots and the rest of the cheese.
- End with last 1/3 of carrots
- pour sauce slowly over caserole
- top with buttered bread crumbs. Refrigerate until ready to bake. 45 minutes before serving bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes
