Spicy Oriental Shrimps

- 180 g fresh snow peas (chicharo), trimmed shopping list
- 1 med. red bell pepper, cut in ½-inch strips shopping list
- 1 small carrot, cut into large strips shopping list
- ½c green onions, diagonally sliced shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed shopping list
- 1T corn oil shopping list
- ¼c water shopping list
- 1c Orient Express sauce shopping list
- 1t red pepper, crushed (or to taste) shopping list
- 450 g medium shrimp, peeled and deveined shopping list
- salt to taste shopping list

- ORIENT EXPRESS SAUCE shopping list
- 2 ½c chicken broth shopping list
- ½c cornstarch shopping list
- ½c soy sauce shopping list
- ½c light corn syrup shopping list
- ½c dry sherry shopping list
- ¼c Natural vinegar (real cider or pineapple) shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic, minced or pressed shopping list
- 2t grated Fresh ginger shopping list
- ¼t ground red pepper shopping list
How to make it
- SPICY ORIENTAL SHRIMPS
- In a casserole, sauté red pepper, garlic and green onion. Add carrots and snow peas, stirring. Add water. Cover for a few minutes.
- Stir in sauce and crushed pepper. Cover and cook for a few minutes. Add shrimps and continue cooking until sauce boils and thickens, and shrimps are opaque. Add salt to taste. Toss a few times. Serve.

- ORIENT EXPRESS SAUCE PROCEDURE
- Combine broth, cornstarch, soy sauce, corn syrup, sherry, vinegar, garlic, ginger and red pepper in 1 ½-quart jar with tight-fitting lid. Shake well. Store in refrigerator up to three weeks. Shake well before using.
