Mamas Plum Torte-kuchen Recipe

How to make it

  • Wash plums, dry and pitt
  • Place in a bowl and add small amt of sugar, cinnamon and vanilla and let sit about an hour.
  • Cream butter and sugar and then add in eggs and blend well.
  • Mix dry ingredients and blend into creamed mixture.
  • Place batter in a buttered 8 or 9 inch square pan.
  • Push in plums skin side down,partly into batter here and there.
  • Drizzle with any plum liquid, sprinkle with some more sugar and cinnamon.
  • Bake in a preheated 350 oven until golden and done, 45 to 1 hr
  • Cool in pan.
  • Cut from pan, serving with whipped cream, ice cream or sifted powdered sugar
