Kelloggs Rice Krispies Treats Candy Canes

- 3 tablespoons margarine or butter shopping list
- 1 package (10 oz. about 40) regular marshmallows shopping list
- - or - shopping list
- 4 cups miniature marshmallows shopping list
- 6 cups Rice Krispies® shopping list
- - or - shopping list
- 6 cups Ready-To-Eat cereal cocoa Krispies™ shopping list
- Red string licorice shopping list
- prepared frosting (optional) shopping list
How to make it
- Melt margarine in large saucepan over low heat.
- Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
- Remove from heat.
- Add KELLOGG'S RICE KRISPIES cereal.
- Stir until well coated.
- Divide warm mixture in half and shape each portion into 12-inch candy cane. (For easier handling, coat fingers with butter, margarine or cooking spray.)
- Wrap red licorice around canes for stripes and secure with frosting, if desired.
- Cut each candy cane into 6 slices.
- Best if served the same day.
- MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS:
- In a microwave safe bowl, heat margarine and marshmallows at HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes.
- Stir until smooth.
- Follow steps 2 and 3 above.
- Microwave cooking times may vary.
- 1 jar (7 oz.) marshmallow creme can be substituted for marshmallows.
