Rum Rasin Poached Apples

This is a nice elegant fruit side, or simple desert. I found it in Woman's Day 1994
Ingredients
- 2 cups cold water shopping list
- 3/4 cup white sugar shopping list
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg shopping list
- 1/2 tsp rum extract shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 4 all purpose apples, peeled quartered and cored shopping list
- 1/2 c raisins shopping list
How to make it
- Bring water, sugar and nutmeg to boil in a large deep skillet
- Boil 5 minutes.
- Add extracts and apples, cover and simmer 10 -15 minutes gently stirring 2 to 3 times.
- Remove from heat and stir in rainsins.
