Ingredients
  • Bake in oven 350 degrees
  • 4 whole eggs
  • 4 c. cake flour
  • 1 c. plus 1 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. each of: cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg
  • 1 box of raisins
  • 1/2 c. nut meats
  • 2 c. applesauce

Directions
  1. Sift flour before measuring.
  2. Measure, place in sifter with soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves.
  3. Cream shortening, sugar and eggs.
  4. Add dry ingredients alternating wit h applesauce.
