How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Drain sweet potatoes and put in a 2 1/2 quart casserole. In small bowl mix, flour, oatmeal and brown sugar. Pour this and the cranberries over the potatoes and mix together carefully. Dot with
  • margarine. Bake for about 35 to 40 minutes.
  • After baking, cover with marshmallows and put under broiler until marshmallows are slightly browned. **WATCH CAREFULLY, this does not take long!**

    I've prepared this dish (or similar version) for a few years now;
    and no one will let me out of making it on Thanksgiving when I kid around about not having it.
    It is a very nice treat as a side dish - it's almost like eating desert during the meal.

    Very interesting. I'd never have thought of the oatmeal,..and the cranberries sound like such a great addition. I'm copying this for our Thanksgiving get together!
