How to make it

  • Heat oven to 375°F.
  • Combine butter, shortening, peanut butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and egg in large bowl; beat on medium speed of mixer until well blended. Stir together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt; gradually add to butter mixture, beating until blended. Stir in peanut butter chips.
  • Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Using fork dipped in additional granulated sugar, flatten balls to about 1/4-inch thickness by pressing fork in two directions to form crisscross pattern.
  • Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely.
