Bean with Bacon Soup

- 1- 16 Oz. Package of dried navy beans shopping list
- 9 Cups water shopping list
- 1 LB. bacon shopping list
- 2 onions, Chopped shopping list
- 2 Stalks of celery, Chopped shopping list
- 4 Teaspoons chicken bouillon shopping list
- 1 Bay Leaf shopping list
- 1/3 Teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/4 Teaspoon ground black pepper shopping list
- 1/8 Teaspoons ground cloves shopping list
- 1-16 Oz. Can diced tomatoes shopping list
- 4 cups water shopping list
How to make it
- Boil the beans in 9 cups of water and then let sit for one hour. Drain and set aside.
- Cook the bacon to your desired texture 9it can be soft or crisp) and drain except for 1/4 cup drippings. Coarsly chop bacon
- Add the onions and celery to reserved drippings and bacon. Saute until soft, donot drain. Add the chicken base or cubes, 4 cups water, bay leaf, salt, pepper, and cloves and simmer for 2 hours
- Stir in the tomatoes with thier juice.
