Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 to 2 lbs red snapper fillet, cut in chunks
  • 1 can whole tomatoes ( 28 oz ) cut up with liquids
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 10 ounce package frozen cut okra unthawed
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • or
  • 1 cup water and 2 Tbs. beef bouillon paste
  • 1/4 cup sherry or vermouth
  • salt, pepper,
  • fresh thyme for garnish

Directions
  1. Red snapper can be an expensive fish so try to buy it on sale.
  2. The soup is stew like and has wonderful flavor.
  3. We make it for special occasions.
  4. Recipe may be made in a slow cooker cooked on high for several hours or in a simmered in a stockpot .
  5. Simply combine all and cover and cook.
  6. Garnish soup bowls with fresh thyme.
