Halloween Carriage Cookies Recipe

How to make it

  • Combine flour, baking powder and salt in medium bowl; set aside.
  • Combine 1 1/4 cups butter and sugar in large bowl.
  • Beat at medium seed until creamy.
  • Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat until well mixed.
  • Reduce speed to low; add flour mixture, a little at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Divide dough in half.
  • Shape each half into ball; flatten slightly.
  • Wrap each in plastic food wrap; chill at least 1 hour.

  • Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Roll out dough on lightly floured surface, one-half at a time (keeping remaining dough refrigerated), to 1/4-inch thickness.
  • Cut out with 3-inch pumpkin cookie cutter.
  • Place 1 inch apart onto large cookie sheets.
  • Bake for 5 to 7 minutes or until edges are just beginning to brown and center is set.
  • Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; remove to wire rack.

  • Combine powdered sugar, 1/3 cup butter and vanilla in medium bowl; beat at low speed adding enough whipping cream for desired frosting consistency.
  • Frost and decorate as desired.

  • Prepation time: 2 hours
  • Baking time: 5 minutes per pan
  • Yield 42 (3-inch) cookies
