Wet Chocolate Almond Cake Recipe
This is a rich chocolate cake my Grandmother use to make for us as children. I tweeked it a bit to my liking. This cake needs no frosting. It is better as two or three day old cake.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. almond extract
  • 2 cups water

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Sift together dry ingredients.
  3. Mix together wet ingredients.
  4. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix well. This batter will be VERY THIN!
  5. Pour into UNGREASED 13x9 inch cake pan.
  6. Bake 30 minutes, do not check before 30 minutes or the cake will fall. Tooth pick test doesn't work on this cake its too moist. Cake is done when it looks set in the center.
  7. Cool and then cover with plastic wrap.
  8. Wait 24 hours before serving. Cake will have a wet top appearence.
  9. Garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and a drizzle of hot fudge.
