An allweather burger for the ages. When the grilling season ends, this is the next step. Modified from a recipe I got in Paula Deen's magazine.

Ingredients
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1/2 cup minced onion
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Directions
  1. In a large iron skillet, fry bacon over medium heat until crispy. Drain bacon on paper towels reserving the drippings. Set aside.
  2. Put minced onion in the skillet and cook over medium heat until transparent. Drain onions on paper towel and set aside.
  3. Crumble the bacon into tiny pieces.
  4. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, worcestershire sauce, mustard, horseradish, salt, pepper, onion and bacon mixing well. Form into 4 inch patties.
  5. Wipe out the skillet, heat to medium heat and add hamburger patties. Any ground beef has enough fat to make it's own cooking oil. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side or until done to your liking.
  6. Serve em up with your favorite condiments.

This is a recipe that I modified from a magazine. Changed several things while trying it out. When the grilling season ends this is an indoor alternative.
