German Ginger Cake

- 150 grams of butter shopping list
- 150 grams of sugar shopping list
- 200 grams of all purpose flour shopping list
- 1 tbsp baking powder shopping list
- 1 large egg shopping list
- 1 egg + water for egg wash shopping list
- 1/4 tsp salt shopping list
- 3-5 knobs of crystallized ginger, chopped with 1 tbsp syrup from the jar shopping list
- flaked almonds shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat the oven to 350 F
- Melt the butter and add sugar, salt, flour and ginger + syrup together. Beat the egg and add almost all of it to the batter. Mix well.
- Butter and flour an 8 in cake tart.
- Press the dough into the tin with a fork. Brush with the egg wash.
- Top with flaked almonds.
- Put it in the oven. It will have to bake for about 30 minutes,
- until firm and golden brown.
