Ingredients
  • 4 pieces green apples, peeled, halved and cored – cut a very thin slice off the bottom of each slice to keep apples stable when baking)
  • 1 cup raisins, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • Juice of ½ orange
  • 1 cup roasted and unsalted nuts (peanuts, pecans, walnuts, hazelnuts) choices - chopped
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

Directions
  1. Pre heat oven to 350F. Place halved apples in a large baking dish.
  2. In a small bowl, combine all ingredients. Spoon onto each apple half.
  3. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove foil and bake for another 30 minutes until apples are easily pierced with a fork.
