How to make it

  • Dip vegetables in batter; cook in deep hot fat (360 degrees to 365 degrees) till tender and browned.
  • Drain throughly.
  • Skim off any batter on surface of fat.
  • Serve with condiments: Grated fresh gingerroot; equal parts grated turnip and radish; 1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce mixed with 1/4 cup prepared mustard.
