Ingredients

How to make it

  • Cut shortening with a pasty blender or 2 knives until mixture looks like coarse cornmeal. Set aside.
  • Combine:
  • 1 egg beaten, 1/2 cup milk and apples. Mix Well. Add to dry ingredients. Mix just until blended.
  • Spoon into 12 greased muffin cups, filling each 2/3 full.
  • Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until done.
  • Meanwhile:
  • Melt 1/2 cup butter, set aside. Combine 1/2 cup sugar with cinnamon mixing well and set aside also.
  • Remove donuts immediately from muffin cup. Roll first in butter mixture coating evenly. Roll in sugar/cinnamon mixture.
  • Cool on wire racks.
  • RECOMMENDATION: I made 2-3 batches of these, they seem to disappear faster than I can make

    I made these at my bakery today, and everyone agreed that they are amazing! Thanks so much for sharing. I will make these on a regular basis. They were moist and full of flavor. They remind me of the apple doughnuts at the local orchard.

    I tried this yesterday, it was soo yummy and soft....just melts in my mouth..
