A good thick Irish Stew that will leave you wanting 2nds and 3rds!

Ingredients
  • 1.5 -2lb stew meat
  • 6 med red potatoes
  • 1c cut carrots
  • 1/4 of med onion - chopped
  • 1 packet stew season mix
  • 1 11.2oz bottle of Guinness
  • 3-4c water
  • 3Tsp minced garlic or to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste

Directions
  1. Brown beef in 1/4c olive oil with garlic and pepper
  2. add potatoes, carrots, onion, stew mix, and Guinness and just enough water to cover ingredients - bring to boil
  3. let boil down to
  4. add enough water again to cover ingredients and let boil down again
  5. Add 1/2 amount of water and simmer to thick broth.
  6. Enjoy!!!

Can you tell me what you mean by stew mix? Do you just mean an envelope of spices? If you do, what kind do you use?


Yes, just stew season packet. we use our local grocery store (Kroger) brand
