I am surprised at how good and satisfying this recipe is...enjoy ..Of course I had to have cornbread with mine...:) I got this recipe from our local newspaper...

- 16 oz bag frozen turnips (or fresh)
- 2 cans Northern beans
- 1 lb pork sausage sliced to your liking ( you can also use turkey sausage)
- 1 box Knorr Vegetable soup mix
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 4 cups water
- salt and pepper to your taste

Ingredients

16 oz bag frozen turnips (or fresh) shopping list
2 cans Northern beans shopping list
1 lb pork sausage sliced to your liking ( you can also use turkey sausage) shopping list
1 box Knorr vegetable soup mix shopping list
1 can diced tomatoes shopping list
4 cups water shopping list
salt and pepper to your taste shopping list

How to make it

Add all ingredients to a large pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 1 to 2 hours.

I have had this soup. My best friend made it for my husband who is going thru chemo for cancer. She said it is very good for caner patients. It is delicious and I a making it tonight.

libraygirl...I would use just the greens for this soup but if the only ones you can find has turnip root in them will not hurt the soup...Good luck...I use McKenzies frozen chopped turnips...Betty

Just to clarify- the frozen bag of turnips is just the greens, correct? Do they go in whole or chopped? Not even sure if I can get turnip greens, but it could be fun to track them down. Thanks!
