Turnip Green Soup Recipe

I am surprised at how good and satisfying this recipe is...enjoy ..Of course I had to have cornbread with mine...:) I got this recipe from our local newspaper...

Ingredients
- 16 oz bag frozen turnips (or fresh)
- 2 cans Northern beans
- 1 lb pork sausage sliced to your liking ( you can also use turkey sausage)
- 1 box Knorr Vegetable soup mix
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 4 cups water
- salt and pepper to your taste
Directions
- Add all ingredients to a large pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 1 to 2 hours.

Just to clarify- the frozen bag of turnips is just the greens, correct? Do they go in whole or chopped? Not even sure if I can get turnip greens, but it could be fun to track them down. Thanks!

Libraygirl...I would use just the greens for this soup but if the only ones you can find has turnip root in them will not hurt the soup...Good luck...I use McKenzies frozen chopped turnips...Betty
