Tostones

- 2 unripe green plantains shopping list
- 1/2 cup oil(for frying) shopping list
- 1/2 cup of salted water in a bowl shopping list
- Wood Tostonera(optional) shopping list
How to make it
- Heat the oil in a heavy frying pan over medium high heat
- Peel Plantains and slice diagonally into 1-inch pieces.
- Fry the plaintains a few pieces at a time until they brown on all sides.
- Remove and put on a paper towel lined plate.
- Keep oil in frying pan on over the medium high heat
- Take a tostonera or small plate to press each slice to a thickness of about 1/3-inch.
- Dip the flattened plantains in the salted water.
- Immediately return part of the flattened slices to the hot oil and fry again on each side until well browned and crispy.
- Drain on paper towels and repeat with the remaining flattened slices.
- Voila Tostones
