- 1 package of chicken drumsticks (sis drumsticks) shopping list
- 1/3 cup buttermilk shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- 2 cups flour shopping list
- salt shopping list
- pepper shopping list
- i bottle peanut oil shopping list
- brown paper bags shopping list
How to make it
- take the drumsticks out of te package and rub generously with salt and pepper. place them in a bowl or dish and cover with plastic wrap. leave in the fridge for about two hours.
- when drumsticks are ready mix the buttermilk and eggs together.
- in a separate bowl place the flour.
- heat the peanut oil in a deep pot and keep it at about 350.
- dredge the chicken through the four, then the buttermilk egg mixture, then back through the flour. carefully place into the pot of oil. i did this three at a time. cook for about twelve minutes. i turned them around every three or so to brown the batter evenly.
- when done, put the chicken onto the brown paper bags to get the oil off.
- you can make a little tent of foil to keep the first batch warm while cooking the second but i just put the pieces into the oven at 250 on a cookie sheet to keep warm.
- i served with biscuits and corn.
