How to make it

  • take the drumsticks out of te package and rub generously with salt and pepper. place them in a bowl or dish and cover with plastic wrap. leave in the fridge for about two hours.
  • when drumsticks are ready mix the buttermilk and eggs together.
  • in a separate bowl place the flour.
  • heat the peanut oil in a deep pot and keep it at about 350.
  • dredge the chicken through the four, then the buttermilk egg mixture, then back through the flour. carefully place into the pot of oil. i did this three at a time. cook for about twelve minutes. i turned them around every three or so to brown the batter evenly.
  • when done, put the chicken onto the brown paper bags to get the oil off.
  • you can make a little tent of foil to keep the first batch warm while cooking the second but i just put the pieces into the oven at 250 on a cookie sheet to keep warm.
  • i served with biscuits and corn.
