Warm Cranberry Jalapeno Sauce Recipe
WARM CRANBERRY JALAPENO SAUCE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Ackerman Estate in Dallas, Texas in 1989.

Ingredients
  • 1-1/2 cups fresh cranberries
  • Juice of 1 orange
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 red bell peppers roasted peeled seeded and diced
  • 2 small jalapenos roasted peeled seeded and diced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • Zest of 1/2 lime
  • Zest of 1/2 orange

Directions
  1. Broil peppers on baking sheet turning frequently until skin is evenly charred.
  2. Place peppers in plastic bag for cooling.
  3. When cooled peel skin from peppers and remove seeds.
  4. Blend cranberries, orange juice and sugar then transfer mixture to pan.
  5. Add remaining ingredients stirring well.
  6. All to stand at last 30 minutes to allow flavors to blend then warm sauce over low heat.
  7. This goes great with steak, pork or roasted chicken.
