Meatballs And Tomato Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

Meatballs:

1 1/2 lb. of lean ground beef

3/4 lb. of lean ground pork

2 eggs

1 Medium onion minced

1 cup bread crumbs

Salt and pepper

Sauce:

1 large can Italian tomatoes -diced

1 can Fire roasted tomatoes

1 can tomatoe paste

1 medium onion -minced

12 cloves garlic -minced

1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning

Salt and Pepper

I use my chopper to mince onions and garlic

Directions

Sauce:

Combine tomatoes and tomato paste and stir until combined and add 1 cup of water.

Add the Onion, Garlic, Italian Seasoning, Salt and pepper.

Bring to a boil, turn down to medium low and simmer for 2 hours.

Meatballs:

Combine beef, Pork, Onions, Eggs, Breadcrumbs, Salt and pepper. I use my mixer but you can use your hand.

Form into 1 1/2 inch to 2 inch balls and place on baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.

When sauce is done combine with meatballs.

Great served over spaghetti or on a sub.

What I do is add a little milk and grated Parmesan cheese to the meatball mix.

I also sauté my vegetables first then add the herbs before adding the tomatoes and paste.
