Ingredients

How to make it

  • Cut yams into 2”-rounds and boil until tender.
  • Mash; add 2 T butter and 2 T brown sugar; mix in orange juice.
  • Butter an attractive baking dish. Place mixture in dish (should be 2-3“ deep).
  • Pour hazelnut syrup on top. Using a butter knife, gently marble the syrup through the yams. Do not mix it in! You want a ribbon of hazelnut syrup running through the yams.
  • Scatter bits of butter and the remaining brown sugar over the top.
  • Bake at 300 ° for 2 hours, or until the mixture has firmed up and the top is crusted (can be lightly crusted).
  • Amaze your guests! Have room for pie!

Need to take a covered dish for a Thanksgiving dinner. This one sounds very nice--plus, like the Hazelnut syrup in coffee.

    Thank-you

    Have a good week.

    Kind Regards
