Strawberry Cheesecake Gelatin Dessert with Pretzel Crust By Grandma Whitaker

- Crust shopping list
- 2 cups crushed pretzels shopping list
- 4 tablespoons of white sugar shopping list
- 1 cup of melted butter shopping list
- Mixture shopping list
- 8oz package of room temperature cream cheese shopping list
- 1 cup white sugar shopping list
- 1 small container of Cool Whip or dessert topping shopping list
- Topping shopping list
- 2 cups boiling water shopping list
- 1 large package strawberry gelatin shopping list
- 2 bags of frozen strawberries (fresh will NOT work) shopping list
How to make it
- Crust
- Mix all ingredients in a 13 x 9" baking pan
- Press down with fingers or utensil
- bake 8 or 9 minutes (until slightyly browning) in 400 degree oven
- Mixture
- Whip room temperature cream cheese with sugar
- Fold in whipped topping, be sure it's mixed well
- Pour mixture over cooled crust, smooth out evenly
- Topping
- Boil 2 cups water
- Remove from heat at large box of strawberry gelatin, mix well
- Stir in 2 packages of frozen strawberries, just to coat with gelatin
- Quickly pour topping over cream cheese mixture as frozen strawberries will begin to set the gelatin
- Cover and chill in refrigerator until gelatin is completely set, about an hour
- To serve, put hot tap water in bottom of sink and place dessert into warm water for about one minute to help loosen the crust before serving, or will break. Serve with spatula.5
