This is one of my favorite meals. Braised beef with mushrooms and a background flavor of wine. It is the best stroggonoff I have ever had.

Ingredients
  • 3 lbs. beef stewing meat
  • 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
  • 1 cup white wine
  • 2 cans golden mushroom soup
  • fresh or can mushrooms. If desired . (This is a great way to use those extra mushrooms in the fridge.)
  • 1 cup (8 oz.) sour cream

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350T
  2. Trim fat and cut beef into 1 inch cubes and place in a oven proof roasted pan.
  3. Brown beef on medium heat over range top until seared.
  4. Combine both soups and wine.
  5. Bake covered at 35o for 1 1/2 hours Stirring once or twice.
  6. Continue baking another hour this time UNcovered.
  7. Stir in sour cream and serve over cooked noodles or steamed rice. The aroma will drive you and your dog nuts. This will reduce and make a nice full flavored gravy you will love. Enjoy.
