How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 450-500F. Mix 1c BBQ sauce of your choice(Ken's steakhouse-cannonball or KC masterpiece are my general choices) 1c brown sugar and liquid smoke to make a paste. Rub paste on pork. Place pork in a roasting pan and bake for about an hour. Outside will burn.
  • Take pork out of oven and using a meat fork to secure the meat cut it into about 8 large piece. You are basically trying to cut against the grain of the meat so that you will have 3 in strips of shredded meat at the end. Put the cut pieces and all the drippings into a large stock pot.. Add Dr.pepper, cider vinegar and cover with water about one inch over. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer. Simmer uncovered for about 3 hours or until liquid is almost.
  • Drain remaining liquid and allow pork to cool enough to break up larger pieces by hand. Add BBQ sauce and heat to serving temp. Brown onion potato roll, pork and chesee, enjoy!

We love pulled pork sandwiches, so this is a Must Try...gotta see how the Dr Pepper adds to the flavor - sounds delish!
