Meatless Spaghetti Sauce from 1958 before Marinara

How to make it
- Cut a clove of garlic in half and brown in 4 Tbs olive oil: remove garlic.
- Add a No. 2.5 (or about 16oz) can plum tomatoes, strained; t Tbs. capers which have been soaked in water for a few minutes, 1/4 tsp dried basil, 2 Tbs chopped green olives (or black - I prefer black), salt and black pepper to taste.
- Cover pan and simmer for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add 1Tbs. parmesan cheese about 5 minutes before cooking is complete.
- Serve on cooked spagetti.

A marinara by any other name, huh, mornin? It is amazing that I never ate pasta when I was a child. You are right! It was ALWAYS spaghetti. Thanks for this one. Five.
