Butter Spread The Easy Way Recipe

Butter Spread The Easy Way Recipe
I found a new way of making a butter spread that is so easy and so inexpensive that I wish I had figured out how to do this 50 years ago! The end product is excellent and costs the equivalent of 35 cents a stick or so.

Ingredients
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 sticks margine
  • 1 cup oil - you pick - can be olive, vegetable or whatever... just stay away from motor oil (hah)
  • 1 cup water

Directions
  1. Put the butter, margarine and oil in a bowl and heat until melted... I use a 1 quart plastic container as a bowl and heat in a bath of a small amount of boiling water.
  2. Add water to container and place in fridge for several hours.
  3. Using your hand mixer, beat contents until they form a very thick cream and put container back in fridge with a cover on it.
  4. Your butter spread will be ready in a few hours.
  5. Use it like you would butter... it's easy to spread, tastes wonderful and if you use the right margarine and oil it is low in cholesterol.
  6. Once you make this, you will continue making it for the rest of your life, guaranteed!
  7. And of course you can flavor the butter mix with herbs, spices or whatever.

So what is the right margarine and oil? thanks JJ.

Try olive oil and Promise spread - the low cholesterol stuff for a healthy spread. Plain vegetable oil with store brand margarine - usually about 99 cents a pound - will do if you are not as concerned with health issues as cost.
