Ingredients
  • 2 turnips, grated
  • 1 large sweet potato, grated
  • 2/3 lb raw chestnuts, roasted and mashed
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp dried cranberries
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

Directions
  1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl until well blended.
  2. Shape into 4 patties, cover and chill 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat a spray of non-stick spray in a frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Fry patties until golden brown, flip and cook on the other side until golden also. Serve hot.

I bet these are truly heavenly. My great grandmother would probably roll over in her grave for going outside the confines of her latke recipe, but I'm positive it would be worth it!
