Lemon Tart

- CRUST: shopping list
- 1 cup flour shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 7 tablespoons unsalted butter shopping list
- FILLING: shopping list
- 6 large lemons (for zest AND juice) shopping list
- 3 large eggs shopping list
- 3/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/4 cup heavy cream shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Combine dough ingredients until proper consistency for kneading.
- Knead lightly.
- Lay crust gently into a 10" diameter tart pan with removable bottom.
- Prick crust all over with fork.
- Line crust with foil.
- Pour beans onto foil.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove from oven.
- Remove foil from crust.
- Bake another 5 to 10 minutes OR until crust is browned.
- Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees F.
- Grate lemons for zest.
- Squeeze 1/2 cup juice from lemons.
- Whisk together the lemon zest, lemon juice, eggs and sugar.
- Whisk in the cream.
- Pour mixture into warm tart shell.
- Bake for 23 to 25 minutes.
- Remove from oven.
- Cool completely.
- Top with berries, chocolate shaving, whipped cream........
