How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and line with paper a 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat, stir in cocoa until smooth. Remove from heat. Add sugar, 3 eggs, 1 1/2 cups flour and the nuts, mix well. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, mix together remaining egg, 1/2 cup flour, sweetened condensed milk and vanilla. Pour over baked layer, sprinkle with chips and cherries over top. Return to oven.
  • Bake 20 to 25 minutes more or until set and edges are golden brown. Cool completely. Refrigerate 4 to 5 hours before cutting into bars. Cover and refrigerate leftovers.
